Life At Sea 1971-1979
The first book I ever read was 'Treasure Island' a birthday present from my dad. At eight years old it was a tough read, but the adventure I found in it set the stage for the rest of my life. The photographs my Granddad took when he was in the Royal Navy between the two world wars were also great inspirations, especially the ones of the Far East, of Japanese castles and temples, sights I got to see years later as a Merchant Seaman after graduating from the National Sea Training School in 1971.
Here you will discover my sea-going career, from being a Pantry Boy on my first ship to becoming a chef on private yachts cruising the Mediterranean before I gave up the sea life to become a private Chauffeur in Canada. That story you will find in the 'Dream Life'.
