WONDERFUL WORLD REPORT FROM SOUTH AFRICA
1OO Tree planting volunteers from Japan had the time of their lives, while visiting South Africa on a tree planting and garden creating mission co-ordinated by the Wonderful World Tree Planting Festival and Food and Trees For Africa (FTFA). Trees were planted in some of the countries most disenfranchised townships and communities and along with that, were planted permaculture gardens at schools, orphanages and community centres. The volunteers funded the journey themselves and left the people of South Africa with a great impression of Japan. Involved in the activities were thousands of school children, local residents, government officials, the Japanese Embassy, leading Japanese and South African corporations and the Queen Mother of the Bafokeng Tribe.
